GLEE!

I really like the character Kurt in Glee. He is the "gay kid" in the show. So a lot of the times, he is stereotyped as that. If Kurt were a student at NYU, I think he would definitely be termed as cool and not be an outcast. However, he is considered an "other" possibly because he rebels against all the norms of small town Ohio. I want to analyze Kurt in the episode "Preggers," where he actually tells his dad that he is gay-- but not before trying to hide from his father by trying out for the football team. This episode contains a lot about what it means to be and not to be masculine.

Here is a link to the full episode of "Preggers." Couldn't find a way to embed it.

  1. I've never seen this show but I've heard that it really steps out of the box as far as portraying characters in not so stereotypical roles that we are used to seeing. Looks like it's gonna make for a very interesting analysis- I think I might have to start watching this show!

  4. I just wanted to say I love Glee! Actually, I feel like the show is very much about stereotypes, but the characters are trying to break out of that, so this should be fun. :)
