The first and only time I saw this ad was in Bust Magazine about 3 years ago. I found it interesting for a few different reasons. The first being that I had never seen an ad for close up toothpaste nor had I seen it in stores. Also, the ad uses sexual imagery that usually goes hand in hand with alcohol or jeans ads rather than toothpaste. Most toothpaste ads that I see are marketed towards families, such as Crest or Colgate, it's obvious this ad is targeted towards a specific teen market. Since then I've never seen another ad or heard anything about Close-Up toothpaste, but it stuck in my head for three years so it must have done something right.
